In and out with a bang

I’ve been away from my blog for far too long now—my absence due to a business conference in Washington,DC. I made the most out of the trip, considering it was work related and that I spent most of my July 4th traveling to and waiting in the Reagan International Airport and traveling home.

But the whole adventure began on June 30, when en route to meeting my boss at the office to head to the Airport, I instead met up with a deer.

DSCN1293 Being that I wasn’t hurt, I left the car (making a strange hissing noise) at the work parking lot and continued on to the airport. (My wonderful hubby got the car towed and we are currently waiting the estimate—thank God for car insurance.)

So amidst classes and conference sessions we managed to get some sightseeing done.

The hotel and conference center were beautiful…although quite far from Washington DC, it cost $20 round trip every time you took the shuttle in.

There was a nice party to end the conference complete with fireworks.

Because it’s so far from anything exciting, we spent the 4th wandering around the National Harbor, trying to stay cool. So we had a drink, took a picture with Abe and headed to the airport waaaay early.

030Yes I had to document the beer and the Breakfast menu (don’t worry it was after noon) 031

The trials and tribulations of my return home will be documented later.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day!
